Overview
Dresser Drawer Productions, founded by Wayne Burns in 2015, is dedicated to creating provocative, cinematic, and character-driven work. Notable projects include Body So Fluorescent (Winner, "Emerging Canadian Artist" Award at 2020 Inside Out), The Gift Giver (2019 Telefilm Talent to Watch recipient), A Revolution of Love (Winner, 2021 “Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award for Community Leadership”), LIAR (Winner, "Best Performance" at 2021 ACTRA Maritimes Awards), and A Queer’s Guide to Spiritual Living (Special Presentation at 2023 Inside Out).
In addition to film and TV projects, Dresser Drawer continues to produce live performances and events, including Direct Address with Wayne Burns, the sold-out run of Lester Trip’s Honey I’m Home at Factory Theatre, the Atlantic Canadian tour of LIONESS, and performance art at Eastern Front Theatre, In The Soil Arts Festival, and Fluid Fest. Committed to fostering collaboration and sparking genuine conversation, Dresser Drawer is steadily establishing itself as a leader in groundbreaking, authentic Canadian content.
Currently in development: a feature film adaptation of Ori Black's play Summer of Semitism, the web series BunkerTime! with Pearle Harbour, and Featherweight, a short film written by Michael Ayres.
